Raise One's Status

In the market, there were many bidders interested in a Hill mynah. One youth raised his hand and put out $300 to start. A burst of sound appeared in the bidding arena and it said "400 dollars". The youth, not to be outdone, added $500. Finally, he got it with $9000. He inquired the auctioneer if the bird is able to pronounce words. "It is of no doubt, otherwise whom did you just compete with?" answered the auctioneer.
