Travelogue of Austria

Had a 2-week vacation in May, so I took a trip with my family to Austria and experienced its culture and lifestyle. The country is fit for self-drive travel, yet it is easy to be fined for parking in wrong spaces. Many tourists like us were there to enjoy the sunshine and breeze on a leisurely Danube river cruise from Krems to Melk. Melk Abbey, situated on a cliff overlooking the Danube, is well known for its Library that contains over 100,000 volumes. Mauthausen Memorial is often chosen for a visit when sightseeing in Linz. In Salzburg, you may take the Salzburg card to visit famous sights such as the Mirabell Gardens, Mozart's Birthplace, and the Hellbrunn Palace. On the way to Hallstatt, we passed Wolfgangsee and the Zwölferhorn cable car took us up to the beautiful spot of gorgeous lake with mountain surroundings. We also took part in a Hallstatt salt mine tour that contained taking a ride on the underground train, enjoying a sound and light show about the history of the mine, descending the lower galleries via a wooden slide, and going across the underground lake on a wooden raft. Do not miss walking through Hallstatt's picturesque village. From the clock tower, the landmark of Graz, you can enjoy a magnificent landscape of the red roofs. When looking around the Schönbrunn Palace, it was unexpected that I met a colleague at TSGH. The Schönbrunn Palace is indeed a must-see spot in Vienna.
